10 – Chocolate Fruit
We start off with this jam that I think I would like to try. There are several in this combination style range, but I thought this one sounded the best as well as being rather unusual.
9 – Lavender fields
This might sound like the jam mash-up of a mad person, but this quite common jam made from lavender flowers, a lemon, liquid pectin, water and sugar is apparently perfect for pudding / ice cream dessert dishes! But it can also hold its own as a savoury spread as well on cold meats.
8 – Marrow Spread Margin
Made by the very prestigious Tregunter this vegetable style jam made with marrow with stem ginger is one that I am sure tastes great on a scone. But for me, I will give it a miss.
7 – Flower Power
I have to admit I thought this was a wind-up. But nope! This jam really is made from not much more than several thousand rose petals, and is said to have a Turkish delight style taste. I bet it smells lovely! But the taste is not something I would be winning to discover.
6 – Pint of Jam Please!
Made with several bottles of Guinness, and powdered Sure-Jell pectin this is one of those beers that has to be smelt first before you eat it. But this is not for me, no way. But for those Irish Stout fans, this could be the ultimate sandwich spread!
5 – Banana Jamma
You can make a lot of different things with bananas that is for sure, but making jam is not one I have heard of. But despite that I think I would have to try this, after all banana sandwiches taste great so in theory so should this.
4 – Running Hot and Cold
If this doesn’t put hairs on your morning toast chest then nothing will. This yellow looking fruit preserve is a mash-up of hot and sweet. Traditionally served with cold meats, it is more savoury than anything else. But it would take someone with a real passion for trying new things to eat it.
3 – Rabbit Jam
Said to be made from an ancient cookbook (Probably like the ones in my post:”Top 10 Rare Cookbooks”) is this sweet treat fruit preserve that is not seasonally dependent for a change. So if you fancy your toast being veggiefied this is the recipe for you.
2 – Meat Jam?
Just when you thought the taste of chillies, bacon and jam was a no-go, along comes this new and improved recipe! Well that makes all the difference doesn’t it. This won’t be appearing on my morning slice of toast any time soon.
1 – Don’t cry over jam Onions
I don’t know about crying, but I might well feel a little sick. I looked all over the web, but this jam made from slow roasted garlic and carmelized onions with balsamic vinegar is the worst sounding thing I came across. But there will be someone reading this who will think those ingredients sound like the perfect combination, but that person is not me.
