I am sure most of us have seen a few examples of her art work, but before today I have never done a whole post about it. I am talking about designer Paige Smith so is inspired by the cracks and holes in walls and pavements all over the world! Upon finding a suitable place to put them she inserts amazing die-cut paper geodes into them. It doesn’t make sense when I say it like that, so it is best you see them rather than me tell you about them…

10 – Hole in one
This first golden geode really shows what this is all about. Normally it would just be a boring hole in the wall, but once a urban geode is inserted it is something magical that awaits to be discovered.
9 – Green Jems
Even in the smallest of gaps, these geodes look amazing. I love this green one as it really sticks out from the wall and would be a cool thing to discover.
8 – All the Colours
I think something is lost by having loads of colours like this one. Maybe some of you will disagree with me, but it is just not as…”Magical” as the others.
7 – Tiny Discoveries
Now this is clever. I have no idea how much harder it is to make them this small, but I am going to guess it is quite a bit harder. That hole needs filling as well!
6 – Black Out
I have to admit I am slightly distracted in this image by that thing hanging down, but a black quartz geode in a old telephone booth is still well worth looking at.
5 – Smash and find
A nasty hole some vandal has made in a door? Fear not, because by sticking a golden geode into it it will look amazing much like this one does. In fact it looks rather beautiful.
4 – Floor Gems
You could walk past this a million times I am sure. So it is a good thing there is a full map to find these on the artists website! Just click on any of these images to get started finding your very own urban geode.
3 – Fill me in
This amethyst style urban geode is one of my favourites from this artist. Because it makes something rather ugly into something simply beautiful.
2 – All Weathers
Even in the dark, and the poring rain these geodes still look amazing, and a great thing to discover in the middle of the night while walking home I’m sure.
1 – Walk on by
This image really shows how you could simply walk past something amazing and not even realise it. If only they were real and every brick had a hidden geode inside. Now that would be amazing indeed.
