10 – London
Even the London Eye doesn’t get off lightly. Light tinted green to celebrate St. Patricks Day I think it looks even better in green and I am sure a lot of Irish people would also agree with me.
9 – New York City
I’m not too sure what the lettering is suppose to say but that is definitely a St. Patricks Day theme and colour style. Street art is always the best kind (to me anyway.)
8 – Michigan
There is not many examples of street art that turn the often happy and jolly St. Patricks Day into something dark, but that is exaclt what this street artist has done.
7 – Savannah
Savannah, Georgia is often home to the second largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the USA. With around 400,000 visitors each year there is various art instillations that are steeped in Savannah’s rich Irish heritage like this stunning green fountain.
6 – Virginia
For obvious reasons the Clover Hill fire and ambulance service in Virginia has very close ties indeed to the Irish day of celebration, so the paint their fire trucks and ambulances green all year round! The perfect colour and art work for St. Patricks Day.
5 – Boston
All over America they celebrate St. Patricks Day, and some places even have street parades with floats that are basically moving works of art!
4 – St. Patricks Day Art – Chicago
The St. Patricks Day parade in Chicago is the biggest St. Patricks Day parade in the world! Featuring thousands of people in costumes and the odd work of art like this cow made to celebrate the American, Irish ties.
3 – London
On this day every year a number of iconic landmarks with Irish links and heritage turn green. This image is the Trinity College in London showing St. Patricks Day really is a worldwide celebration.
2 – Ann Arbor
We have seen the work of artist David Zinn before in my post “Top 10 Street Art Chalk Drawings” and I thought it would be good to bring back his green creature Sluggo for one last time for St. Patricks Day.
1 – Chicago
Why do Americans celebrate St Patrick’s day when it’s an Irish day of celebration? Well it is because most Americans have an Irish heritage so are more than entitled to have a day of celebrating it.
