We have all had that wish that we could be invisible for 1 day (well I have anyway.) I thought the only way it would ever happen was if some mad scientist made Harry Potters Cloak of Invisibility a reality! Well sometimes reality is stranger than fiction…

10 – Guarding The Invisible man
I thought I would start off with this one so you had at least some idea of what Liu Bolin really looks like! But from here on in he goes into full camouflage mode.
9 – Vincent van Gogh
While Vincent van Gogh did paint sunflowers he never painted himself to look like them. Liu Bolin on the other hand blends seamlessly into any field of flower.
8 – Hollygone!
He is not just a star in China, he has been invited all over the world to perform his art. Often the unseen aspect of his work can have a hidden political meaning to them.
7 – JCBSeen
Out of all the stunning images Liu Bolin has created I found this one the hardest to see him. In fact the first time I saw it I didn’t see him for ages!
6 – Into The Dragon
Liu Bolin not only uses his own body as a canvas, painting himself into the background, but he also paints other people into it as well. But don’t worry, there is only Liu Bolin in all the images you see here.
5 – You Smart
There is a certaint childhood play style to some of his images. Maybe like many of us he would hide behind the curtain and think he was invisible. Come on, admit it. We all did it!
4 – Not a Mobile Man
His choice of scenery to blend into is often a reflection on modern Chinese life. For those of you who are wondering, he is wearing clothes, shoes and gloves. Only his face is painted onto the skin.
3 – Comic Book Hero
I would love to think that he always dreamed of becoming invisible because he read so many comics, after all there are loads of superheroes who have invisibility as a power.
2 – Supermarket Sleuth
Thinking of doing it yourself? Well think again, because the body control and art skills needed to do this are far beyond what most artists could do. Liu Bolin got a master of Fine Arts degree from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, so maybe start with getting some serious skill sets.
1 – Panda Peeled
Liu Bolin often chooses sites that replete with symbols of China’s Cultural Revolution, and sometimes it is just for a bit of fun. I would like to think that this was a fun one to end this post with.
